Cornerstone Laid for Kappelimäe School

On Friday, 22 October, the cornerstone was laid for the extension of Kappelimäe School in the centre of Laitila City, North West Finland.

The designers of all design disciplines, the management of the school, the Mayor of Laitila, the main contractor and the members of the public participated in the ceremony where the cornerstone was laid.

Amhold Ltd performed the construction design of the major repairs of the school building and structural engineering of the extension.

Kappelimäe School building, with net area of 2100m2, is built in the 1960-s. The total cost of the major repairs and extension in the campus is 3.4 million euros. Total of 304 students is attending to Kappelimäe Basic School grades 1-6.

The estimated completion of the construction of the school building is August 2011.
